Just because people rode the shoes doesn't mean they have "roots" in skateboarding. They bailed out on skateboarding three different times because it wasn't profitable: After the Animal Chin era, when they first promoted it with ads, after the mid-90s era, when they broke contracts and left guys like Bam in the lurch, and then with Savier, under a think veil of disguise. DIdn't even stick to their original commitment of 5 years before they pulled the plug on that piece of crap. They're making money now so everything's just peachy, but people wearing their shoes doesn't equal support or roots in skateboarding.
